Aim for the restoration of Dejima

During the era of national seclusion, Dejima was the only spot connected Japan with Western Europe as well as the hub of exchange economy, culture and academy research and played a vital role on modernization of Japan. After Meiji Period, Dejima lost its fan-shaped floating on the sea by the second project of harbor improvement construction in 1897. Dejima is a valuable and historical heritage in Japan as in the rest of the world. Nagasaki citizen and also many people at home and abroad have been looking forward to the restoration of Dejima to be done.
